This FREE class is for everyone-If you are wanting to learn to meditate, need a little help or are advanced and would like to share your experience. We will share our methods, learn and meditate together.

a Death Cafe in Carbon County. Death Cafe is an International movement designed to provide a safe and friendly setting to discuss death, dying and end of life concerns while enjoying delicious tea, coffee and a yummy. It's about community, connection and having real conversation.

Create a beautiful egg in the time-honored Ukrainian tradition of Pysanky or create a symbolic piece of art to invoke a new world vision. This workshop will explore the art in a free form, using symbolism that tells a specific story and holds a deliberate intention.

Considered by many to be a "sacred magical art", the creation of a talisman with specific intentions written into the life-giving egg, the Pysanky is an ancient means to celebrate the cycles and events in nature and the cycles of life, designs are made with simple instruments (made of wood and copper) called kistas, the humble materials of beeswax and candlelight and intensely vibrant dyes.

All materials will be supplied to make an egg. A limited number of Pysanky kits will be available for sale to continue the craft at home.

Instructor Kerry Palumbo has been making Pysanky for over 30 years.

Springtime is bringing color to Lehighton! Join us as we kick off the inaugural “Fridays on 1st Street” with contemporary Carbon County artist Rick Hasney.
His artwork has been shown in juried art exhibits and galleries. Some of which include Phoenix Rising, Doylestown, PA, the 17th Annual Monmouth Arts Council Juried Show, Barnegat Bay Art Show, (Honorable Mention 1997), and Riverbank Gallery in Stockton, NJ to name a few and is currently affiliated with Art-o-mat®, the art vending company.
